Basic Sewing

This easy, step-by-step sewing class is designed for true beginners. You will learn pattern terms, how to select patterns for size, which materials to buy, how to lay out and cut, and simple machine usage. With teacher's assistance, students will choose projects appropriate to individual sewing experience. Supply list available at registration. Please bring your own portable machine, attachments and cord.

Please read:  Basic Sewing – Suzanne Wehmeyer Supply List 1) Fabric 2) Pattern 3) Thread 4) Sewing Machine 5) Extension cord 6) Seam Ripper 7) Hand sewing needles 8) Extra needles for your sewing machine 9) Fabric Scissors (Investing in a good pair is always a good idea.) 10) Seam gauge 11) Sewing pins 12) Measuring tape 13) Magnetic seam guide – not a necessity, but is nice to have **On the first class we will find our measurements and then go to a fabric store where I will help you select an appropriate pattern, fabric and any notions you may need for your first sewing project. We will not be sewing on the first class, so you will not need to bring your sewing machines to the first class.
